Is getting married at the right age a new trend in Bollywood?

Gone are the days when marriage would take a toll on an actor’s career and life. Actors in the past never knew what was the right age to get married, as they were afraid of the fact that their career would come to a standstill after the wedding. Bollywood possesses a history of actors who in spite of getting married in their 40’s, were never seen gracing the silver screens again.

The times have however changed and how. In the current scenario, actors have become more open to marriage and are not feared of starting a family at an early age. The best examples for are actresses like Anushka Sharma and Sonam Kapoor who are responsible for setting the new trend.

In spite of being one of the top actresses of Bollywood, Anushka Sharma dared to get married at the age of 30 and is still at the top of her game. The actress, in fact, worked even harder and continued to give more content-driven films, augmenting her fanbase. And now, another actress following her footsteps is Sonam Kapoor, who is about to get hitched to her longtime beau Anand Ahuja on the 8th of may. Sonam again is 32 years old and has no plans of quitting her career. She has a movie coming up soon after her wedding and will be getting back with its promotions, soon after the ceremony. While on one hand, we have actresses like Urmila Matondkar, Madhuri Dixit, and others, who needed a comeback film to make their presence felt in the industry again after marriage, on the other hand, we have actresses like Sonam and Anushka, who already are on the peak of their carrier and marriage does not likely does any harm to them.

The young brigade of Bollywood has changed the marriage trend for good. And it is not just limited to marriage. I mean look at Kareena Kapoor Khan. Forget getting married, even her pregnancy was the talk of the town. Kareena went on to look fit and fab as always and having baby has not even affected her career a bit.

These stars have been unstoppable and have set a new benchmark for the common people! Kudos to them for bringing a change in the industry!
