One of the cult movies of his career is ‘3 Idiots’ that is still engraved in the memory of the moviegoers. The concept, story-telling, narration – everything was just superb. The movie revolves around three friends (Aamir Khan, Ranganathan Madhavan and Sharman Joshi) who are engineering students. Boman Irani was the stern principal of the college while Kareena Kapoor Khan played his daughter. Omi Vaidya, who donned the character of Chatur Ramalingam a.k.a. Silencer, was like a cherry on the top. He tickled every single bone of the audience with his comic timing.

The entire crew of ‘3 Idiots’ stayed for a couple of months in IIM-Bangalore hostel for the shooting. The Imperial College of Engineering that was shown in the movie was actually Indian Institute Of Management, Bangalore. When Aamir went to see the hostel for shooting, he decided to stay there as he played one of the students who stayed in the college hostel. To get into the skin of the character, not only Aamir, but the entire crew was based in the IIM hostel.

Earlier one of the IIMites said, “The star actor met students regularly during mornings and evenings and chatted with them about their routine studies and way of life. He inquired about how an IIM-Bian student thinks.”

While staying in the hostel, Aamir’s favourite pastime was playing chess. A student of IIM-B said, “When I was playing chess with my friend, Aamir just walked in and joined me for a game of chess. It was a hard game to beat him.”

‘3 Idiots’ will be forever in our heart and memory and we wish to see more movies like this in the near future.
