Did you know Saif Ali Khan once said ‘my kids are growing up with Amrita’s relatives, maidservants’ for doing a TV show?

Saif Ali Khan is a father to two children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, from his first wedding to Amrita Singh. The actor shares an extremely close bond with his kids. Saif often speaks highly of his ex-wife Amrita Singh and her upbringing with the kids. But, did you know Saif had once questioned Amrita’s decision of working, while his kids were growing up?

Saif Ali Khan had once opened up about his ugly divorce with ex-wife Amrita Singh. And, the actor had even questioned her working on a television show. For the unversed, Amrita was a part of Ekta Kapoor’s show Kavyanjali. The Adipurush actor was upset over Amrita leaving their young kids at home and going to work.

Speaking with Telegraph back then in an interview, Khan had said, “Right now, my kids are growing up with Amrita’s relatives and maidservants while she’s out working in a TV serial. Why does she need to do that, when I’m more than willing to support my family?”

However, this was not the first time when Saif had slammed his ex-wife, publicly. In 2005, during an interview, the Adipurush actor also opened up on paying a huge alimony to Singh. He had said, “I’m supposed to give Amrita Rs 5 crore, of which I’ve already given her approximately Rs 2.5 crore.”

The actor had added, “Also, I’m paying Rs 1 lakh per month until my son becomes 18. I’m not Shah Rukh Khan. I don’t have that kind of money. I’ve promised her I’ll pay up the rest of the money, and I will, even if I’ve to slog till I drop dead.”

While these are differences of the past, Saif and Amrita are living their respective lives now. The Adipurush is happy married to actress Kareena Kapoor. The couple is parents to two wonderful sons, Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh Ali Khan. Saif’s kids from his first wedding to Amrita, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan share a close bond with their brothers Taimur and Jeh.
