When Anushka Sharma was offended by Virat Kohli’s joke on her heels

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are celebrating five years of wedded bliss today. The couple who tied the knot on December 11, 2017 are one of Bollywood’s most loved jodis’. Five years down the line, Anushka and Virat are going stronger than ever. They even welcomed their daughter Vamika in January 2021. On their special day here is an interesting anecdote from their first meeting.

Anushka Sharma had met Virat Kohli during an ad shoot. Virat Kohli had in an interview revealed how nervous he was around her and had cracked a lame joke to his embarassment.

In an interview with American television sports reporter Graham Bensinger, Virat said, “The first time I met her, I cracked a joke immediately you know, with her. I was very nervous and that’s why I cracked a joke because I didn’t know what to do. Was standing on the set and I was feeling all nervous and jittery and then she came in and I was like…thought was being funny but I said something which wasn’t probably the right thing to say.”

He added, “She’s tall as well and she was being told that I’m not that tall; I’m not like 6 feet plus or something and you shouldn’t wear massive heels. So, she walked in with this much height of heels and I saw her and she was looking taller than me and I was like, ‘Didn’t you get higher pair of heels?’ and she was like ‘Excuse me!’ and I’m like ‘I was just joking!’.”

On the work front, Anushka Sharma who was on a break since the birth of her daughter will soon be seen inChakda Xpress. The movie is a biopic on the life of former cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
