Ranbir Kapoor- the third generation of the first family of Bollywood- Kapoor khandaan. When you put your foot in this glamorous industry with ‘Saawariya’, I was not only drooling over your charismatic personality but also sure of the fact that you will make it big one day. Though your debut movie did not fare well at the box office, you took it in stride and didn’t get laid back. This one quality of yours is the main reason why I admire you.
After your stints as a loverboy in ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ and ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani’, I gradually regained the belief that you are equally talented and not just a star kid. Further, when you took a risk to play a character which was certainly beyond your comfort zone, everyone, including me, was hesitant that your career might be doomed. But no, you proved every person out there wrong by your unmatchable acting skills. Watching your films like ‘Barfi’, ‘Rockstar’ and ‘Rocket Singh’, I was of the belief that you are not just any typical commercial hero and there is more to you than that.
What made you different from the rest of the actors in the industry, was the fact that you never took success or failures seriously, and treated it like part and parcel of your job thereby proving your calibre by each passing movie. And by the time you reached the peak of your career, you faced a drift. With back-to-back box office duds including your much ambitious film ‘Jagga Jasoos’, many of your fans in the world including me were fearful that this just might be the end of your stint in Bollywood. Say it bad luck, but inspite of your amazing acting prowess in the film, it did not work for you.
But, you turned out to be a warrior who only got stronger by each debacle. This was the very time when you gave a nod to Rajkumar Hirani’s most ambitious project ‘Sanju’, which was based on the life of Sanjay Dutt. To be honest, I wasn’t quite happy with your casting initially knowing that you have a chocolate-boy persona and it would take a tremendous amount of effort to portray such a strong character. Forget about your initial pictures as reel Sanjay Dutt, it was only when the teaser of ‘Sanju’ came out, was I satisfied with your casting in the film.
Your startling resemblance with the real Sanjay Dutt, effortlessly carrying off his body language and the pitch of his voice was the moment when you hit it right with your loved ones, thereby making them believe that you have that potential to be the next superstar of Bollywood. Well, what I am further going to say, may sound a bit too much but then you have that intent to become the next Amitabh Bachchan of the tinsel town. And wait why not? You have been always sincere with your work, worshipped it and despite of your lows, you have put in an x3 amount of hard work to get back at the position which you were a few years back.
Also, let me tell you, I am not kidding out here or being cheesy just because of my admiration for you, it is because of your dedication towards your work, that me and many of your admirers around the world, feel that ‘Sanju’ is a product that you deserved.
And now that the film has hit the theatres already, I am glad to announce to the world that I was right and how. While the film has blockbuster written over it, you sure have done the unimaginable with it. Let bygone be bygone, coz there will be no looking back for a class-apart actor like you from now on.
