Megastar Amitabh Bachchan-starrer ‘Bhoothnath Returns’ has slowly picked up on the weekend and finished its first week with box office collections of over Rs. 30 crore. The movie has a plus factor of having a backdrop of politics, and as it is election time it was expected to do well. But ‘Bhootnath Returns’ was given a competition by non Hindi releases. Slowly the box office collection went up on the basis of its merits.
As per sources, trade expert Taran Adarsh, said that ‘Bhoothnath Returns’ box office collections has crossed Rs 30 crore in the first week of its release. “#BhoothnathReturns Fri 4.07 cr, Sat 5.85 cr, Sun 8.10 cr, Mon 4.40 cr, Tue 3.02 cr, Wed 2.25 cr, Thu 2.45 cr. Total: ₹ 30.14 cr nett,” Adarsh tweeted.
The presence of Big B in the movie was a plus point for the movie and also some positive word-of-mouth surrounding the lighthearted moments in the film, led to a jump in the business for the weekend shows. “The film opened to a weak response on Friday but consolidated a bit on Saturday and did very well on Sunday,” says trade expert Vinod Mirani.
