After receiving a great feedback from many Bollywood personalities along with a tremendous response in the film festivals of Busan and London, filmmaker Hansal Mehta’s next movie ‘Aligarh’ is ready for a theatrical release in India.
Recently after releasing the official poster, the makers are now out with the first trailer for this movie. It is based on a true story about a Marathi professor Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras who was suspended just a month before his retirement after a sting operation was conducted on him inside his campus house.
After making movies like ‘Shahid’ and ‘Citylights,’ Hansal is teaming up with his editor Apurva Asrani who has made his writing debut with ‘Aligarh’ to tell a story on a serious issue dealt in today’s modern society. His association with actors Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao is also special as the director has worked with them in past delivering some good quality content films.
Looking at the trailer, the film is certainly raising an important issue from the perspective of a person when he is questioned for being himself.
