Dibyendu Bhattacharya is known for his powerful acting. Breaking the conventional mould of being an actor, he has carved a special place among the audience with his unconventional looks. Dibyendu openly talked about his personal and professional life in a Flashback session with Bollywood Bubble. He mentions how, even today, he often faces comments about his skin tone. However, he brushes them off with a laugh. Dibyendu also says that while in foreign countries, the discrimination is just about being black or white, in our country, it’s much more than that.
Dibyendu also shares how he made his way from Kolkata to NSD (National School of Drama) and what went on there and what he learnt. He also talked about the difference between directors Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and Anurag Kashyap. Moreover, he reacted to the fitness of Vidyut Jammwal, Akshay Kumar, and John Abraham, saying that he is quite different from them. While they wake up early, he goes to sleep at that time. Host Avinash Pal asked Dibyendu why it often happens that big actors are cast for a character through makeup and such, even though there are actors who naturally look the same.
Dibyendu answers that the reason is business—Bollywood is a business; it’s commerce. During the conversation, he reacted to topics like the casting process and social media. At the end of the talk, Dibyendu expressed that he doesn’t know why Anushka Sharma’s starrer Chakda ‘Xpress is not releasing.
