Fresh and delightfully unique, trailer of Anushka Sharma’s ‘Phillauri’ is incredible

Here comes the delightfully fresh and unique trailer of Anushka Sharma’s ‘Phillauri’. The trailer narrates the unique story of a friendly spirit named Shashi (Anushka Sharma) who is here to narrate a love story. The plot revolves around a crazy Punjabi wedding wherein the guy played by Suraj Sharma, who is a Maanglik, needs to get married to a tree and Shashi’s soul is trapped in the same. So, her spirit starts haunting and chasing him. The guy is set to tie the knot in an arranged setup with a beautiful girl played by Mehreen Pirzada. But, Shashi’s spirit just doesn’t leave his side. And here’s when the twist comes, Shashi, the nice ghost, has a past, a past which is seemingly incomplete.

Cut to flashback in the village Phillaur of Punjab, you see a fit and muscular Diljit Dosanjh and an gorgeous, then alive, Anushka Sharma in the true-blue Punjaban avatar. Their jodi looks magical and their love story seems to be incomplete. What exactly happens and how Anushka Sharma turns into a ghost forms the rest of the story, and is something that is piquing at our minds.

Talking about the performances, Anushka looks endearing as a ghost and her constant nagging nature for Maanglik Surah Sharma is a delight to see. Suraj Sharma who had proved his mettle as a great actor in the movie ‘Life Of Pi’ looks a perfect fit for the role he enacts. Mehreen Pirzada who plays the role of the coy bride is beautiful and looks promising. And, finally we have ‘Udta Punjab’ actor Diljit Dosanjh who will make you fall in love with his charm.

Overall, the trailer is unique and will make you laugh and think at the same time. ‘Phillauri’ is directed by Anshai Lal and produced by Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Sharma. The movie stars Anushka Sharma, Diljit Dosanjh, Suraj Sharma, Mehreen Pirzada in lead roles. The movie is slated to release on March 24, 2017.
