Rishi Kapoor’s death left an unimaginable void in the industry and his last film Sharmaji Namkeen is now up for release on March 31. The film, that remained incomplete, following his illness and untimely demise, was taken to completion when producers decided to film the remaining portions with Paresh Rawal. Here, producer Farhan Akhtar, director Hitesh Bhatia, along with the film’s actors Juhi Chawla and Taaruk Raina, join us for a candid conversation on Bollywood Bubble.l with out host Nayandeep Rakshit. In this chat, they discuss their fondest memories of Chintu ji, how despite being a tough nut, he was always a softie at heart and why he will always be missed. They also discuss the challenges they faced in putting this film together, after his demise, and the team reveals they had even thought of finishing his swansong with his son Ranbir Kapoor stepping in. Although they made several efforts including prosthetics, it didn’t yield desired results. Apart from the legend and his legacy, Farhan also opens up for the first time after his marriage to Shibani Dandekar and shares why they wanted to keep it simple and intimate.
