Kamya Panjabi on being a single mother, facing judgement, meeting Sonagachi residents for Neerja

Kamya Panjabi is known for her bold and fierce personality and keeping up with that persona, she is set to star in Colors Tv’s latest show Neerja Ek Nayi Pehchaan. The actress plays Dhidun in the show, a madame in Kolkata’s red light area, Sonagachi and recently, the actress got in an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble host Akash Bhatnagar. There, the actress spoke about her connection with the channel and being a voice to poignant yet taboo issues portrayed in her shows like Shakti and Neerja. She shared if having been a single mother for over a decade helped her make the decision to choose Neerja, and recalled her experience of single motherhood. She also opened up on facing people’s judgements for her opinion, her personal life, divorce and second marriage. Her bold avatar is appreciated today but there was a time when it was shunned, and she revealed if that affected her. Kamya also met Sonagachi residents to prep for the show and her character of Dhidun and revealed the difficult situations they deal with every day while looking for respect and acceptance in the society.
