The making video of ‘Daddy’ gives us an insight into real Arun Gawli

The makers of Arjun Rampal’s ‘Daddy’ are on their toes promoting the film. Every promotion is revealing something or the other about the real Daddy aka gangster Arun Gawli. We stumbled upon the making video of this film and realised that the gangster is a very humble and a polite man. Arjun who essays the role of Daddy in the film has shared his stories with us as to how it was to meet and be in the company of the gangster. Arjun has been quoted saying, “Arun Gawli is a rational, intelligent and compassionate man who did not scream when I had started shooting without his permission. He is very soft spoken, has a lot of tehzeeb and is very well read. He knows so much about Maratha history. He is extremely humble and endearing and people really see it and that is why he is called Daddy.” The director too has a lot to share. He said, “When we started doing research, I realised that Arun Gawli was quite a dude. That is what interested me, there was a whole other history of his character and his world which we have never seen before.”
