OMG: Abhishek Bachchan ignored Karisma Kapoor

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan ignored actress Karishma Kapoor at the Dada Saheb Phalke Award Ceremony. The two were present at the event where veteran actor Shashi Kapoor was conferred the prestigious award. The reason behind Abhishek who is known to be a gentleman, ignoring Karishma Kapoor goes a long way back.

Abhishek Bachchan was engaged to Karishma Kapoor in 2008. But the engagement was called off. The exact reason for the break up was never made public. But as per rumours, Karishma Kapoor had bought a house at Mumbai and Karishma’s mom Babita wanted Abhishek to leave the Bachchan house and live separately with Karishma. This was not acceptable to Abhishek Bachchan at any cost, neither has it been the tradition of the Bachchan household. So the engagement did not culminate into marriage. Since then the two whenever they are present at the same event avoid each other.

The relationship between the Bachchans and the Kapoors are still smooth and strong as ever, for Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter Shweta is married to Raj Kapoor’s daughter’s son Nikhil Nanda. Looks like with passing of time things have becoem normal between the two families but the same cannot be said about Abhishek and Karishma.
