Ranbir Kapoor: A beardless sardar

Ranbir Kapoor will be seen sporting a pagdi sans beard for a song in his upcoming movie Besharam. This get up is donned by RK Jr for Aa Re Aa Re song that shows him in an avatar of a Sardar. Looks like an invitation to garner the wrath of the Sikh community.

As per sources ,The last time Akshay Kumar had done it for’Singh Is King’ he had to face objection from the Sikhs as to his beardless getup.

But the producer feels that this is entirely something different ,as Ranbir Kapoor is not playing the role of a Sikh,“Ranbir is not playing a Sardar in the film, but only sporting a pagdi for this song. In fact, the song is one of the highlights of the film and Ranbir has sported the pagdi with a great sense of pride, so we don’t think anyone should have an objection to that. We are sure once they see the whole song, they will all understand what we are talking about”.
The song that was shot in Chandigarh he said,”It is a fun number not meant to hurt anyone’s sentiments.”
