Sujoy Ghosh’s Epic Thriller ‘Ahalya’

Sujoy Ghosh‘s recent short film Ahalya starring Radhika Apte is winning critical appreciation. The movie is based mythological tale of beautiful Ahalya married to a much elderly Gautama Rishi, Indra is captivated by her beauty and comes in disguise of her husband to her, when the rishi realizes what has transpired he curses his wife to stone. it’s his most beautiful creation and is bestowed upon the wise Gautama Maharishi.

Indra, the King of the Gods, tricks and seduces her. Upon catching the two, an enraged Gautama curses her and turns her to stone.
