Thanks to the title, we are already keen about Shahid’s next, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’

Shree Narayan Singh made a successful directorial debut this year with Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’. While many directors take their own sweet time for their next project, Singh is all set for his second directorial titled ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’. The film stars Shahid Kapoor in the lead role and today on the occassion of Diwali they have launched the motion poster of the film to announce the title. While we had expected that they will also announce the lead actress of the film today, it looks like we need to wait a little longer to know who the lead actress will be in the film.

‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ looks like social satire and it is said to be based on electricity problem in Delhi. The movie will reportedly also tackle the issue of electricity theft and scam. Talking about the film, the director said, “I’m happy to collaborate with Prernaa and Arjun of KriArj Entertainment the presenters of ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ . As a filmmaker , it’s a pleasure working with a dream team of producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series  who always put the film first and understand everything that goes into making a memorable movie. Together we hope to make another memorable film that reaches a wide spectrum of audiences across the country.I also look forward to working with Shahid Kapoor.
