Forest Department of Maharashtra Government and esteemed filmmaker Subhash Ghai teams up to hike awareness of the prestigious 13 crore plantation drive to increase the green cover in Maharashtra state by using music as a medium of communication and carry it out further to the national level.
Subhash Ghai has always had an ear for melodies that make his legacy unforgettable. This time he wrote a uplifting poetry and eventually composed a song which is sung by the master of melody Sonu Nigam making it all the more euphonic.
“As our Mumbai film industry always stood by our state and national causes we happily accepted to support 50 Cr of tree plantation Drive initiated by Govt. of Maharashtra last month. I am happy that our students made music & films both which have been appreciated all over in theatres and television. We will continue to contribute in all causes whenever our state or nation needs us. We feel privileged and blessed to do so.” said Mr. Subhash Ghai.
“We wanted to connect with the youth brigade of Maharashtra in very emotional and direct manner and hence we approached Mr Subhash Ghai. He and his students took up this challenge immediately and we are extremely thankful to Mr. Subash Ghai and Mr. Sonu Nigam. Their Phenomenal energy and enthusiasm have made this project a success!” quoted Dr. Dhairya Roy, The head of Project office of the Minister of Finance & Planning, Forests, the Government of Maharashtra.
Mr. Ghai, along with his students at Whistling Woods made it exceptional by shooting a video for the song. The story just doesn’t end here! He will be composing a fresh melody every month in order to lift this program up. All his efforts are highly appreciated Forest Department of Maharashtra.
The song was released online on 9th July 2018.
