Actor Vipin Sharma is one of the few actors who has carved a significant place for himself in the audience’s hearts through small roles. Speaking with Bollywood Bubble, Vipin shares how his childhood was spent in a slum. He mentions that his father’s reaction to his love for cinema was that watching films would make him blind. Vipin credits Sanjeev Kumar for inspiring him to enter the world of acting. He recalls how he was selected for NSD (National School of Drama) on his first attempt, while Manoj Bajpayee had to try multiple times before getting in. Vipin expresses that he couldn’t believe he was working with Aamir Khan in Taare Zameen Par. He explains how Aamir Khan accidentally saw his audition, which led to his selection for the film. Vipin also shares what made him leave Mumbai and move to Canada, where he started working professionally in video editing. Whenever Vipin visited Mumbai, he would make sure to meet Irrfan Khan, Tigmanshu Dhulia, and Naseeruddin Shah.
During one such meeting, Irrfan told him, “Cinema is changing.” Vipin Sharma mentions that his last meeting with Irrfan was in London. During the interview, Vipin also talks about how, after his shot in Gangs of Wasseypur, Anurag Kashyap extended his role. He recalls how the iconic scenes of the film were shot. Vipin also compares Aamir Khan and Anurag Kashyap as directors. In a conversation with host Avinash Pal, he reacts to the hefty fees charged by celebrities and says that it harms the film industry.
