Two young girls from Mumbai have gained instant fame, all thanks to a video that they posted on social network. Pankhuri Awasthi and Uppekha Jain of Mumbai, who go by the name of ‘BomBaebs’ posted a video #RapAgainstRape on YouTube. The three-minute, seven second rap song has already gone viral and has got over 38,000 hits in just about 24 hours.

The video starts with these words, “You don’t have to read this. It’s only a standard disclaimer. This video doesn’t have any explicit content. It’s just that the reality of women in India is Explicit. The song, sung in English, features the two girls standing in front of a wall and mouthing the lines. The two girls are also displaying placards that state #Rape, #Slut, #DomesticViolence and #Misogyny.

Pankhuri and Uppekha are seen urging youngsters to go beyo9nd expressing anger on social network and do something concrete. “Stop that tweet/ And actually get on your feet/ And help reform this mindset/ That for years has been preset,” goes a line in the song. The video is being much appreciated by all.
