The film ’31st October’ starring Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das recently had its trailer released, before a PIL that was filed against the movie.
The PIL was filed over the alleged use of certain political leaders’ lookalikes, who are seen making inflammatory statements and instigating people to set fire to all things Sikh and destroy the community, after the death of then Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. A video clip of the movie just started making rounds on the internet, showing the scene in detail.
The above leaked clip is the reason a PIL was filed and Harry Sachdeva, the producer of the film, claims that the scene is actually a conspiracy by Ajay Katara, the petitioner, to make a delay the release of the film. Katara, on the other hand, has denied any kind of involvement.
’31st October’ is based on the aftermath of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassination and the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, which resulted in the loss of thousands of lives. While the movie was set to release on 7th October 2016, it has now been postponed to 21st October 2016.
