Watch: ‘O Re Kaharo’ from ‘Begum Jaan’ depicts the disturbing reality of women in brothel

The makers of ‘Begum Jaan’ have unveiled a new song called as ‘O Re Kaharo’ and it depicts the disturbing reality of women staying in a brothel. Actress Vidya Balan plays the role of a madam of a brothel and the movie is set in the backdrop of late Indian Independence period of 1948.

The song depicts how women are exploited at every step and how they fight back. Vidya’s performance as a troubled woman who is revengeful and full of angst, is amazing. She brings out the tonality of the character perfectly.

The song is crooned by Kalpana Patowary and Altamash Faridi and music is composed by Anu Malik. The movie is written and directed by Srijit Mukherji and produced by Mukesh Bhatt, Vishesh Bhatt and Play Entertainment. It will hit the big screens on April 14, 2017.
