Watch: The recreated version of ‘Panchi banu’ sung by Salman Khan in Marathi is unimpressive

Actor Salman Khan has been promoting the Marathi movie ‘FU – Friendship Unlimited’ helmed by Mahesh Manjrekar. So much so, that he has actually lent his vocals for a song ‘Gacchi’ from the movie. The song video is out now and it stars the lead actor Aakash Thosar (‘Sairat’ actor) and his two friends fantasising over a hot Kashmira Shah serenading in a sexy saree. The song is a recreated version of legendary singer Lata Mangeskar’s ‘Panchi Banu Udti Phiru’ and it’s nowhere close to the original. Also, we discovered that this exact song ‘Gachhi’ was created by a Marathi band ‘The Art Matter’ four years back and this is an exact copy of the song with the same lyrics. So, we know that the original too was inspired from ‘Panchi Banu Udti Phiru’, but this one is not what he expected. Like, we have heard Salman sing before for Hindi movies, but his English accent does no good to this Marathi song which has a mischievous feel to it. Lata Di would be surely not happy with this recreated version as the original was soulful and full of melody.
