Dishoom CBFC

In the past few months, censor copy of films like ‘Udta Punjab’, ‘Great Grand Masti’ and ‘Kabali’ have been leaked. So, to prevent their film for being leaked, the makers of ‘Dishoom’ submitted the movie in a DCP-KDM format, instead of DVDs. It’s the first film to be submitted in the encrypted format.

Producer of ‘Dishoom’, Sajid Nadiadwala said, “We are grateful to CBFC chairman Pahlaj Nihalani and the entire Board for taking this initiative. I am going to put this up before the Indian Film and Television Producers Council and tell them about the safety of this system.”

It is said that in this format once the film is played it gets locked automatically and no one can open it. But for this the producer has to spend extra money. Apart from paying Rs 34000 to CBFC for certification, the producer has to spend extra Rs 20000 for DCP-KDM.
