Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi’s drool worthy chemistry makes us fall in love with Gehraiyaan’s Doobey

Who does not love a modern love story with a tad bit of drama? During the pandemic, quite a many eagerly waited for filmmaker Shakun Batra’s next that would feature Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi in a never-seen-before space. Will this new pairing work? This was a question in the minds of many. But, it seems like this new Jodi is working their Gehraiyaan magic on the audience. And, out of several others, I am one who is excited for this one. Many wondered if this pairing, where the Gully Boy fame opposite the Bollywood diva would manage to work wonders on the screen, but, with the first rushes and recently released song Doobey, the actors are proving that they’ve done a fabulous job.

While Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi explore the intimate aspects of their illicit love affair in the new song Doobey, they manage to leave everyone tight-lipped with their onscreen chemistry.

When I first watched the trailer of Gehraiyaan, I was shocked instantly. Not because the trailer was not interesting, but because it was unexpected. The film, its plot, the actors, and Deepika-Siddhant’s drool-worthy chemistry in the trailer and the song Doobey, grows on you eventually, leaving one wondering ‘What IF’ I was in a situation of such.

In the trailer or the song Doobey, for me, Deepika and Siddhant brought their A-game as they dived into their characters, making this modern complicated love story seem much real. For a moment, one understands Padukone’s perspective, a vision to aim for bigger things, playing an ambitious woman who is ready to risk it all. While many may wonder if she’s in the right place. Hey! Who are we to judge an aspiring woman, wanting to live a better lifestyle. Siddhant, on the other hand, is an ambitious man who has worked his way up. And, the actors take us through their newfound and forbidden love as they jet off on getaways and trips.

As Deepika and Siddhant explore their newfound love, I couldn’t help to notice Ananya Panday’s dialogue delivery and her acting performance during tension-building scenes. The Student Of The Year 2 fame leaves you stunned. Dhairya Karwa plays Deepika’s boyfriend, a lazy and not so ambitious man who cannot understand why his girlfriend wants a better lifestyle.

Gehraiyaan brings to light the modern kind of romance where betrayal, infidelity is common. But, do not be mistaken here. Because Shakun Batra smartly gives a glimpse of the repercussions of it all. The trailer surely does not, I repeat, does not promote infidelity, but leaves you with several thought-provoking questions.

To find out what happens to the cast of four- Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, and Dhairya Karwa, while they are stuck in a modern complicated love story, it’s a long wait until the premiere! And with that, Gehraiyaan, directed by Shakun Batra is currently on my watch list. What’s it that I’m waiting for, ‘February 11’.
