Of late Bollywood seems to be welcoming a new wave in its story-telling aspect. Yes, just recently, we all saw Karan Johar crush some major societal norms with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Now it is Shah Rukh Khan whose Jawan is also smashing some serious stereotypes existing in the industry. Just now the trailer of SRK, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi starrer dropped in, and boy, it is simply mind-blowing. But as I watched the trailer what came to mind was how many opinions is Jawan changing with just its first few glimpses.
Before I break them down for you, watch Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan’s trailer here
3 major real-time myths that Jawan is breaking
And yes, I could get these just from the trailer…
1. Jawan is all hail women power
Yes, right from the teaser we knew that SRK’s film was heavy on rooting for girl power. Nayanthara is in an action-packed stance and so is the girl gang of Sanya Malhotra and others with Shah Rukh. Also, it is a rare sight to see an actress just bang a superstar on the floor like she is throwing a pillow. Well, yes, Deepika Padukone slamming Shah Rukh’s character on the floor is truly the highlight of Jawan trailer. With all of this, the stereotype that is broken is that it is hard for actresses to shine in a superstar-led film. In Jawan, it is completely the opposite. Yes, SRK isn’t the superstar who is hogging all the limelight. In fact, he is the wind beneath the wings of his girl gang, and it is adorable to watch.
2. Jawan is a classic marriage of Bollywood and South
This is one of the biggest stereotypes Jawan is breaking and I am glad about it. Just when all debated upon South cinema taking monopoly over the masses. And also Bollywood regaining its lost glory with recent box office successes. Jawan totally proves how it can be the ‘Project Milaap’ of two major industries. Yes, Jawan exactly highlights what a true Pan-India film stands for, with superstars like Nayanthara and Vijay Serthupathi, sharing screen space with SRK, it proves that both these industries can co-exist and cater to an even bigger audience.
3. Jawan breaks the ‘casting TV actors’ barrier in a big way
One of the longest issues brushed under the carpet is how many TV actors feel undervalued by Bollywood. While they have complained about not receiving great roles in the film industry, some have even spoken about how they have to deal with the TV actor tag and face that very stereotype as they try to make it big at the movies. But Jawan bursts that bubble too, yes, it stars some known names from Indian television like Eijaz Khan, Ridhi Dogra, and even Sunil Grover in prominent roles. With their screen presence in the trailer, we can only believe that they will have much bigger roles in the film. And this would surely be the beginning of new bridges between TV and films in the Indian scenario.

All about Jawan

Seeing the trailer only pushes that key to eagerly wait for Jawan more. Gladly, it is just a week away, yes, 7th September is when Jawan releases in theatres. And going by the excitement in fans, I am totally booking my seats in advance and I suggest you should too.
