Karan Johar Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani

As a Bollywood buff, I have always loved the films that Karan Johar has brought to the big screen as a director. In fact, his films have been the ones that made me believe in the larger-than-life aspect of Indian cinema. And now, after a very long time, KJo is bringing us a film that brings back the same magic that a Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or a Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham had. Today, after watching the Karan Johar-directed Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani trailer, I was again in awe of the cinema I loved.

The trailer just reignited the charm that made me fall in love with Bollywood in the first place. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’s trailer has everything in it, the flamboyance, the drama, and the emotions, but overall, it has the classic KJo touch. In fact, I would happily admit that after a very long time, a Bollywood film is coming that I am waiting to watch on the big screen.

Off-late while many Bollywood films have been made on different scales, they have somewhere lacked the magic. Remember the South films doing better than the Bollywood films debate? Well, it’s not about the numbers or the industries, but the mere magic that the big screen holds that makes you get lost in the film’s world. Sadly, the recent films didn’t get the magic right.

Karan Johar shines as a director always

But Karan Johar did, he exactly knows the formula to create awe-inspiring tales on the 70mm. No matter how many glamorous outfits Karan Johar wears, I feel, it is the director’s hat that suits him the best. Whenever KJo sits in the director’s seat, his passion for his craft strongly reflects in the end result. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was one such film, that touched many hearts. That’s the beauty of films that Karan helms they make a special place in your hearts and live on. They are high on emotions, placed on lavish sets, and have fantastic music, all put together so brilliantly.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is a game changer

Now after a long hiatus of 8 years when Karan decided to take charge of directing once again, I was sure something great was in the making. But what I didn’t anticipate was to feel the adrenaline rush I felt when I first saw K3G or Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh as Rocky and Rani gave me the same goosebumps that Rahul and Anjali did at one point in time.

Moreso, seeing Jaya Bachchan in a negative avatar, especially, after watching her as the adorable Nandini Raichand was quite a surprise. The romantic drama also stars Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi in important roles and with what we all have seen so far, netizens have already hailed Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani as a blockbuster, and I agree.

I truly feel that with this Karan Johar will bring back Bollywood’s lost sheen. Well, this one had to be special for it marks KJo’s 25 years as a director. And after this, I wouldn’t want him to take such long breaks in filmmaking, for Bollywood truly needs him.
