Is Priyanka Chopra risking her big screen career due to TV series ‘Quantico’?

Priyanka Chopra is surely one of the most successful actresses of Bollywood. Not many have achieved what Priyanka has, that too in such a short span. She was last seen on the big screen in ‘Jai Gangaajal’ where her performance was praised, but unfortunately the film failed to create much stir at the box office. Also, unluckily for Priyanka, the director Prakash Jha, who also made his acting debut with the film, stole the show with his fine act. When we watched the film, it was Jha who turned out to be the hero of the movie.

Last year, Priyanka was seen in two amazing films – ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’. While in the former we could relate to her character that finally takes a stand for herself, the latter was a regal role of Kashibai which she played to perfection, and for which she received numerous accolades. Though she was in a supporting role, I loved her, the most in the film. Well, I am not a Priyanka Chopra fan, but then I used to always love to watch her on the big screen. However, I am sure nowadays PeeCee’s fans are also quite upset. The reason is that apart from one Hollywood flick (‘Baywatch’) she has nothing in her kitty when it comes to movies.

Priyanka is ruling internationally thanks to ‘Quantico’, but due to this American TV series, the actress is losing out on many big screen ventures, and the same poses a great threat to her career. It is always said that if you once miss a great opportunity you might not get it again.

Recently, in an interview, the actress said that she had met directors like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar when she had visited Mumbai, but she didn’t sign any film. She also went on to say that she has not just turned down Bollywood films, but she has also rejected more than six Hollywood films due to her tight shooting schedule of ‘Quantico’.

According to the reports, Priyanka was being considered for ‘Padmavati’ and ‘Gustaakhiyaan’. While the former was being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the latter one was being produced by him. There were also reports that PeeCee was roped in for ‘Mr. Chaalu’, but then there has been no development on the film.

We are sure ‘Quantico’ is giving Priyanka an amazing scope to showcase her talent on the small screen and because of the show she has become a global face. But then she should not forget that she is a Bollywood actress and her fans, back in India prefer watching her on the big screen rather than on the small screen.

Well, I might be wrong, but I feel that even Priyanka too is not quite happy with the fact that she is losing so many opportunities because of the show. In an interview, earlier this year, PeeCee had stated, “One thing, however, is clear, after ‘Quantico’ I won’t be doing another TV show.”

We know one thing for sure; Priyanka Chopra is meant for big screen. The talent she possesses, is not just meant to be there on small screen for long. So Hollywood or Bollywood, her fans like us sure want to see her back on the silver screen soon.
