Sunny Leone: From an adult film star to a successful Bollywood actress

Not many people knew who Sunny Leone is, but in 2011, she became a household name thanks to her stint in ‘Bigg Boss’ house. The former adult film star might have never thought that this visit to India will change her life. Sunny stole our hearts with her simplicity and surely changed people’s viewpoint towards an adult film star when she was in the ‘Bigg Boss’ house.

In 2011 in ‘Bigg Boss’, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt went inside the house and offered Sunny ‘Jism 2’ which was going to be directed by his daughter Pooja Bhatt. After being evicted from ‘Bigg Boss’ house, Sunny started shooting for ‘Jism 2’ and the film released on August 3, four years ago.

When the film had released, Sunny didn’t receive any great reviews and people too stated that she will do such erotic films where her body will be given more importance than her expressions. However, with her third film itself the actress proved that she not here just to show her body. Sunny impressed everyone with her performance in ‘Ragini MMS 2’.

She went on to do films like ‘Ek Paheli Leela’, ‘Mastizaade’ and ‘One Night Stand’. With all these films she has proved that she can portray different characters. For ‘One Night Stand’, she received a lot of praises from critics as well as from the audiences. Many said that the ‘actress’ Sunny Leone is here.

Sunny will next be seen in ‘Beiimaan Love’ which is slated to release in September this year. The trailer of the film is out and apart from Sunny’s acting, there’s nothing else that has impressed us.

From an adult film star to a Bollywood actress, Sunny has evolved amazingly. Her improvement from ‘Jism 2’ to ‘One Night Stand’ is remarkable. There are many actresses in Bollywood, who are not from India, but have been in B-Town since many years and have failed to show the growth that Sunny has shown.

Filmmakers too have changed their mindset towards the actress. They have started offering her meaningful roles which give her a scope of performance. Sunny’s biggest achievement will be her special number with Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Raees’. We hope that this number opens more doors for Sunny. One of the producers whom she had worked with once stated that no A-list actor was ready to work in his film and that’s why he had roped in other lesser known actors.

Her previous films couldn’t make a mark at the box office, but still filmmakers are not hesitating in signing her up for their films. This proves that Sunny is here to stay.
