Will YRF’s ‘Sultan’ be Salman Khan’s reply to Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chak De! India’?

The trailer of director Ali Abbas Zafar’s Salman Khan-Anushka Sharma-starrer ‘Sultan‘ has just hit the internet, and the biggest debate has begun – will ‘Sultan’ be Salman’s befitting reply to Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chak De! India’? As far as hardcore fans are concerned, Salman’s fans have no answer when Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chak De! India’ or ‘Swades’ are brought up. Salman has been known for doing films where he is above everybody else – the screenplay, dialogues or even the story. A Salman Khan film had ceased to be anything beyond Salman, but perhaps things are changing for the good. In recent times, Salman seems to be giving more weightage to the script than to his off-screen persona; case in point being Sallu’s last two releases – ‘Kick’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan.’

Ever since Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Sultan’ was announced, fans and media have been going crazy speculating about this wrestling film, that has been the talk of the town for all the right reasons. Not just Salman, this film is a bold statement to all those who had stopped believing in his acting skills. More than anything else, Salman has got his Haryanvi accent just right. To make things better, his leading lady, Anushka Sharma has also got everything right – the body language, the attitude – you name it. The music of ‘Sultan’ is by Vishal-Shekhar, and from what we heard in the trailer, it will also be very popular with the masses. With so much already going for the film, this Eid might turn out be Salman’s biggest blockbuster ever.

It was perhaps the best decision to not release Shah Rukh’s ‘Raees’ alongside ‘Sultan’, because there is no way it would have not be dwarfed by this Salman Khan-starrer.
