In a remarkable turn of events, the latest Bollywood release, 12th Fail directed by the renowned filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, has taken the box office by storm. The movie witnessed impressive growth over the weekend and even on weekdays the film continues to remain unstoppable. The total 5 days collection of the movie sums up to Rs 9.85 crores.

Talking about film’s Day 5 collection, it amassed an impressive Rs 1.65 crores. It saw 10.04 percent occupancy in the Hindi market, with night shows seeing a major chunk of audiences. Despite clashing with Kangana Ranaut’s Tejas and Nimrat Kaur’s Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video, 12th Fail has become the first choice for cine-goers.

About 12th Fail movie

The film is a true story based on Anurag Pathak’s best-selling novel, of the same name. The movie is inspired by millions of true stories of Indian students who attempt the world’s toughest competitive exam, UPSC.  It explores the trials and tribulations faced by individuals who may falter academically but excel in life by restarting.

Bollywood Bubble gave 12th Fail 3.5 stars. A part of the review read, “12th Fail is worth a watch, for sure. It is Vikrant Massey’s honesty as an actor and Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s sensibility as a filmmaker that makes it a hit. This tale of an underdog hero deserves appreciation and the audience’s love and we definitely need more realistic films like this in our cinema.”

Apart from Vikrant Massey, 12th fail stars Medha Shankr and Anant V Joshi in pivotal roles. It released in theatres on 27th October.
