At least box office wise, 2016 ends on a good note! Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ which was making noise for all the right reasons, has opened at theatres with a roar. On its first day, the film collected an amount of Rs. 29.25 crore.
‘Dangal’, interestingly, has become the 7th film in the list of highest opening-day grossers. It had very strong footfall in North India including Delhi, UP and East Punjab. Mahavir Singh Phogat, the real inspiration behind Aamir Khan’s character in the film, belongs to Balali village in Haryana. We aren’t surprised North India went crazy over the film!
With both weekends and Christmas ahead, ‘Dangal’ can expect to witness an even stronger upward move of the box office meter. There’s high rate of advance bookings and most of city multiplexes are already filled for Saturday and Sunday.
Apart from Aamir Khan, ‘Dangal’ also stars Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra.
