Adah Sharma starrer The Kerala Story joins the 100 crore club

The Kerala Story released on May 5, 2023. The film is directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. Since the trailer launch, the film was under scrutiny. But the movie has been receiving love for the movie and has made its way to 100 crores within a week of its release. 

Box Office Collection

The movie talks about the forced conversion of females in the state of Kerala and how their lives unfold after that. The film has a hard-hitting issue at hand but the people have seemed to love it and the box office numbers are proof of that. The Adah Sharma starrer entered the 100 crore club within nine days of its release. The second-week Saturday collection of the film was a whopping 112.9 crore.  This has led to The Kerala Story being one of the few films to cross the mark at the Indian box office this quickly.  The first week collection was approximately 81 crores.

The Sudipto Sen directorial faced a lot of backlash and opposition for its sensitive subject. There are many states that have banned the film. States like Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have made the film tax-free.

The film expects to create awareness about the issue and to save lives. The Kerala Story is based on real-life stories of people who have faced this and hoped that no one should go through what they had to suffer. 
The film stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani and Siddhi Idnani in lead roles. The film is still going strong and expected to earn more in the coming days.
