This year, apart from Pathaan and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’s success, many Bollywood movies did not fare well at the box office. From Kuttey, Shehzada to Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, several films have performed quite low at the box office. Now, speaking about the latest movie, Gumraah seemed to following suit. Actors Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur starrer Gumraah was released on April 7 and the day 1 collection at the box office is out now.
The movie collected Rs 1.10 crore on its opening day which is extremely low. Seeing the first-day collections, Gumraah is quite lacklustre despite having a Good Friday holiday.
Bollywood Bubble gave 2.5 stars to Gumraah. A part of the review, “Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur starrer is a decent watch and will surely keep you hooked in bits and parts. It’s the unusual story that will interest you but it’s the dull execution can be a little off-putting.“
Speaking about the story, Gumraah is about a murder investigation of a young man that takes an unexpected turn when the cops discover that the prime suspect has a lookalike. As the police officers are completely baffled by the situation, they discover that both the lookalikes are connected to the case and are the prime suspects. Gumraah is an official remake of the 2019 Tamil film Thadam.
