Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar-starrer ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ is going strong at the box office. As per Box Office India, ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ has managed to gross approximately Rs 3.75 crore at the box office on its eighth day. After registering this latest collection, the film has now collected a total amount of Rs 97.75 crore at the box office and inching closer to the coveted 100 crore mark. The collection done on the eighth day is indeed a good one, as we had expected a slight drop on weekdays, which did not happen. We even saw a new release this week, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon’s ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, but ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ still continued to rule.
Well, certainly ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ is continuing to maintain that perfect hold over box office and will rake in quite some moolah by the end of it. Also, this is the first movie to be made tax free (in Uttar Pradesh), post the implementation of GST. A special screening of the film is being organised for the Panchs (village representatives) and Sarpanchs (village heads) of Gurugram district, which is a unique thing in itself. The movie is directed by Shree Narayan Singh and was released during the eve of Independence Day. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Sudhir Pandey and Divyendu Sharma playing pivotal roles in it, and revolves around the social issue of open defecation, which is quite a big issue in rural India.
Quiet, resonant, and creative, he can be seen immersed in his own world, and puts in his heart and soul into the one passion that he has, Bollywood. His line for survival? Feel happy to be a part of it.
