An Action Hero Box Office: Ayushmann Khurrana starrer records very low collections on Day 1

An Action Hero, directed by Anirudh Iyer saw a very poor start in the first day collections at the box office. The film was released in theatres on December 2, Friday. The movie stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Jaideep Ahlawat. The Ayushmann Khurrana action movie witnessed extremely low collections on the opening day at the box office.

A Box Office India report said that An Action Hero fared poorly with collections of around 1.25 crore nett on the first day. As per the report, earlier this year, an action movie has to appeal to the masses, however, the urban audience is less interested in actions films, until it is a big Hollywood movie.

In terms of collections, Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Anek saw a poor collection too. However, the collections of An Action Hero are far less than that of Anek, which are pretty much bad, as per reports. The report said that the numbers in NCR are better, a common case in every Khurrana starrer.

According to the report, “An Action Hero fared very poorly on day one collecting around 1.25 crore nett. Earlier this year was an action film  Attack which looked for the big centres only and now this An Action Hero looked for a more restrictive audience than that film and that is the way it has turned out.”

Bollywood Bubble gave the movie An Action Hero a rating of three and a half stars in the review. The review said that in An Action Hero, “Ayushmann Khurrana breaks his social drama image with his power-packed action” while “Jaideep Ahlawat is natural in this enthralling plot“. Meanwhile, An Action Hero also had the movies Bhediya and Drishyam 2 in competition at the box office. Bhediya has recorded a decent collection in the first week of its release, while Drishyam 2 continues its blockbuster trend at the box office.
