Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Anek hit the theatres on May 27. The Anubhav Sinha’s directorial that highlights the insurgency in North-East India had a slow start on Day 1 at the box-office. The political thriller minted Rs 1.75 crore at the box-office as per a report in Box Office India. The film has been directed by Anubhav Sinha and produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Anubhav Sinha’s Benaras Mediaworks. It also has Andrea Kevichusa in the female lead role.
Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Tom Cruise’s Top Gun Maverick are the tough competitors at the ticket windows. So, in that case, Anek is going to face a tough competition.
Anek marks the second collaboration between Ayushmann and director Anubhav after their 2019 film Article 15. In Anek, Joshua (Ayushmann Khurrana), plays a fierce undercover agent who is on a mission to unite India and restore peace between the states. Will he be able to resolve the conflict and bring peace in these regions of the Northeast? That forms the crux of the story.

An excerpt of Anek review by Bollywood Bubble read: Anek tries to narrate the plight of the Northeast but the story seems vague. Since it is a political drama and is based on the political conflict of the Northeast, it will strike a chord if you know the history of the seven sisters. It tries to show the struggle of the region but the narration was lacklustre.
