Anushka Sharma-starrer ‘Phillauri’ was expected to take the box office by storm. However, that didn’t happen. But, it is not like the film started on a bad note. The first day collection of the film was decent, and as expected the film showed a growth on its second day.
The movie on Friday collected Rs 3.75 crore, and on Saturday the collection was approx. Rs 4.75 crore. So, the two-day collection of the film is Rs 8.50 crore. The movie has already recovered around 50 percent of its budget, so even if it doesn’t turn out to be a big hit it is a profitable venture for its makers.
Today, on Sunday, we can expect the film to show a growth or at least be stable. The movie might collect around Rs 13-14 crore in its first weekend which is not bad for a film which has only Anushka as the star power. The other release of the week, ‘Anaarkali of Aarah’ has failed miserably at the box office. The film’s first day collection is around Rs 10 lakhs.
