Dream Girl 2 box office: Ayushmann Khurrana starrer passes the Monday test, collects Rs 5.42 crores

Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday starrer Dream Girl 2 took a great start at the box office on Day 1. The pace was maintained in the weekend and all eyes were on the crucial Monday test. The first Monday collection define the film’s lifetime and Dream Girl 2 has passed that test with flying colour.

Dream Girl 2 Monday box office

After crossing Rs 40 crores collection in its first weekend, Dream Girl 2 put up a healthy figure on its first Monday. The film collected Rs 5.42 crores on Day 4, taking the total collection to Rs 46.13 crores. With this, the film inches closer to Rs 50 crore mark, and in all probability, might cross it today. Dream Girl 2 is facing stiff competition from Gadar 2 which is performing amazingly even in third week. Even OMG 2 is putting up a good total. The Wednesday collection will increase the lifetime figures for each of those films as it is Raksha Bandhan.

What works in the favour of Dream Girl 2 is that it has a clear window of running for one and a half weeks. There is no big release next Friday and since DG 2 has found an audience, it has scope to perform. Until September 7, when Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan comes. The film will take most of the screens and a riot is expected at the box office from it.

As for Dream Girl 2, the film stars Ayushmann and Ananya, alongside an ensemble of actors like Annu Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Seema Pahwa and Manjot Singh.
