Badhaai Do, directed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni saw a drop in the first Tuesday box office collections. Badhaai Do stars Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar and was released in cinemas last week. The film went on to collect 1.85 crore nett on the fourth day and saw a boost in the collections due to Valentine’s day. According to the report, “Badhaai Do saw a drop in collections on Tuesday as it collected 1 crore nett. This means fair value was around 1.15-1.20 crore nett for Monday which is a 20-25% drop from day one. The trend is still fair for the film but the numbers are low and if it could have done 20-30% more on Tuesday it would have been a result.”
As per the report, “The Tuesday number is still good enough for the film to get a decent week but 20 crore nett now looks a best case scenario and it may have to settle for a little less.”
Bollywood Bubble gave the movie three stars. An excerpt from the movie read: “Badhaai Do makes you feel the struggles, the challenges of Shardul and Bhumi but the inconsistency in screenplay makes it difficult to get invested in the characters till the end.”
