Ayushmann Khurrana, Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao-starrer ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ seems to be the sweetest offering of Bollywood this season which is being loved by all. Not just the critics, even the audience seem to be in love with this film and hence, a jump in box office collection of this film from day 1 to day 3.
‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ took a slow start at the box office on Friday by minting approximately Rs 2.25 crore, but then the positive word of mouth worked for this film and it witnessed a jump in the collection on day 2. It collected approximately Rs 3.75 crore on day 2. Well, the trend followed and even on the day 3, ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ showed a good growth. On Sunday, this film collected approximately RS 5 crore at the box office. So by the end of three days, the total collection of this film stands at Rs 11 crore. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar’s ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ that had released on August 14 is still running strong at the box office. On its second Sunday, the film managed to mint approximately Rs 8.75 crore. The total collection of this film by the end of two weeks stands at Rs 112.75 crore at the box office.
For long, there seemed to be a dry spell at the box office with none of the films minting good money, including Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’. But with the success of ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ and with good numbers for ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’, the trend of box office failures seems to be coming to an end.
