‘Begum Jaan’ disappoints in its first weekend

Vidya Balan-starrer ‘Begum Jaan’ was never expected to take box office by storm. However, we never expected that it will have such a disappointing collection.

The movie started on a slow note on Friday, and the average reviews and not-so-good word of mouth didn’t help the film to show a growth at the box office. On Friday it collected Rs 3.50 crore, on Saturday the collected was Rs 3.25 crore, and on Sunday it collected Rs 3.75 crore.

The first weekend collection of the movie is Rs 10.50 crore which is quite disappointing. A 15 crore weekend could have got the film in a safe zone. (Also Read: Vidya Balan-starrer ‘Begum Jaan’ is low on second day at box office)

The film needs some kind of miracle on the weekdays to survive at the box office, and at least be a profitable venture for its makers. However, we doubt it will be stable on weekdays. Sadly, one more flop for Vishesh Films and Vidya Balan.
