Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon starrer Bhediya has been released on November 25 and much to everyone’s delight, the film has already garnered good responses from the fans who watched it on day 1. Having said that, one would easily assume that the film will smash numbers on day 1 but that the numbers might not look as promising as one would expect.
Despite positive reviews, the horror-comedy will record low collections on day 1. According to a report in Box Office India, Bhediya has taken a low start of 10-15%. The opening of Bhediya is lower than the last release of Varun Dhawan which was JugJugg Jeeyo. Reportedly, the movie has sold around 27,000 tickets at the three national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis – which is exactly half of his last release JugJugg Jeeyo.
As per the report, the all-India advance for opening day on the nett collection front is around Rs. 1.50 crores, which is pretty low. Bhediya is also released in 3D and this should have also helped the bigger centres but the response to 3D is also poor.

Nevertheless, it seems like Bhediya will pick up the pace on Saturday or Sunday after receiving good word of mouth. On the other hand, Amar Kaushik’s directorial venture is also facing big competition from Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Akshaye Khanna starrer Drishyam 2, which is having a superb run even on its day 8. The film has already crossed the 100-crore mark at the box office.
Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon starrer Bhediya will only score well based on good word of mouth or reports and reviews. However, it is to be seen how the film kickstarts on day 1 at the box office.
Meanwhile, Bhediya is one of the parts of the Horror-universe which stars Varun, Kriti, Abhishek Banerjee and Deepak Dobriyal.
