Anurag Kashyap’s much awaited film ‘Bombay Velvet’, hit the theaters recently. “Bombay Velvet” was released in 2600 screens in India. But the movie has opened to a dismal response at the Box-Office. Bombay Velvet starring Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor and gorgeous beauty Anushka Sharma along with Karan Johar, was touted to be one of the biggest releases of the year. Expectations were Sky-high from the movie.
But sadly the film failed to attract moviegoers on its opening day. The opening day box office collection of the film is just ₹5.20 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted,
#BombayVelvet Fri ₹ 5.20 cr. India biz. D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R.

He further added,
#Besharam had collected ₹ 21.56 cr on Day 1 [2 Oct – holiday]. #BombayVelvet has collected 1/4th of that film on Day 1 [₹ 5.20 cr].

The opening day occupancy of Bombay Velvet was so bad that some shows had to be cancelled across India. Let’s see if Kashyap’s film will pick up during the weekend?
