Aa Gaya Hero, Trapped and Machine

This weekend was a disastrous one for all the Hindi releases, ‘Trapped‘, ‘Machine‘ and ‘Aa Gaya Hero‘ at the box office. (Also Read: ‘Trapped’, ‘Machine’ and ‘Aa Gaya Hero’ second day box office update)

Rajkummar Rao-starrer ‘Trapped’ did a low business in its first week at the box office. The movie minted Rs 60 lakh on Sunday and the total three-day business stands at Rs 1.30 crore and that’s a low number. But, the fact that it wasn’t a big banner movie and not many people are even aware of it, is one of the factors behind low numbers along with multiple releases on the same day. Critically, the movie earned rave reviews and Rajkummar’s stellar act was one of the best parts of this survival drama, but as they say, not all content-driven movies do good business at the box office.

Abbas-Mustan’s ‘Machine’ starring Mustafa and Kiara Advani got poor reviews, but in spite of poor reviews the movie’s numbers are better than those of ‘Trapped’. On Sunday, the movie did a business of Rs 65 lakh and the total three-day collection of the movie is at Rs 1.70 crore.

Govinda’s ‘Aa Gaya Hero’ had the most dismal performance among all the three movies. The movie raked in Rs 25 lakh on Sunday and the total three-day business of the movie is Rs 65 lakh which is very very poor. The movie even got really bad reviews from the critics and sadly Govinda’s dance moves and comic timing could do nothing to save the fate of the movie.

Overall, none of the movies managed to do a decent business at the box office.
