‘Chef’ shows a minimal growth, while ‘Judwaa 2’ enters the 100 crore club

Saif Ali Khan-starrer ‘Chef’ was expected to take a slow start at the box office as it was a film that would work because of its content. However, the first day collection was not something that we expected. Though we had expected an average opening for the film, the first day collection was dismal.

The movie on Friday collected Rs 85 lakh approx. which was really bad. The film needed a miraculous jump like ‘Newton’ had showed, but that didn’t happen. The movie showed a very minimal growth and collected Rs 1.15 crore approx. taking the two-day total to Rs 2 crore. Frankly, now we have no expectations from the film. Talking about ‘Judwaa 2’, the film is doing exceptionally well in its second weekend. On Saturday, it collected Rs 5.50 crore approx. taking the till date total to Rs 104.75 crore. The Varun Dhawan-starrer has entered the 100 crore club, and it’s a superhit at the box office. If it continues to do well further, we won’t be surprised if the movie turns out to be one of the biggest hits of the year.
