Vicky Kaushal’s period drama Chhaava has achieved impressive success at the box office, collecting a total of Rs 67.5 crore in its first two days. The film, directed by Laxman Utekar and featuring Rashmika Mandanna, has exceeded expectations and is on track to break Bollywood’s recent box office slump.

The film’s success is evident in its earnings. Following a strong opening of Rs 31 crore, “Chhaava” saw a further increase on its second day, earning Rs 36.5 crore on Saturday. This surge in earnings has propelled the film to a total collection of Rs 67.5 crore in just two days. The film, produced by Maddock Films, is proving to be a major success for Vicky Kaushal, surpassing his previous six films in terms of opening performance.

Chhaava recorded an overall occupancy of 50.39 per cent on Day 2. The film saw its highest occupancy in Pune (89.25 per cent) and Mumbai (74.75 per cent). In Hyderabad, the occupancy rate was 61.25 per cent, while Chennai saw 59.75 per cent. Delhi-NCR had an occupancy of 36.75 per cent. “Chhaava” ran a total of 6407 shows across India.

Performance & Impact

The film’s strong performance is attributed to high footfalls. Chhaava recorded a 50.39% Hindi occupancy on February 16, with morning shows at 32.91% and evening shows at 52.57%. The movie, which also stars Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta, has garnered mixed reviews. Despite these mixed reactions, Chhaava has outperformed other releases like Sky Force (10.29%) and Badass Ravi Kumar (13.09%), achieving the highest morning show occupancy for a 2025 release. The film has also established a new benchmark for Vicky Kaushal’s career, achieving the best opening day morning occupancy.
