The film, which stars Rashmika Mandanna, has now become the highest-grossing film of Kaushal’s career. Produced by Dinesh Vijan and featuring standout performances from Akshaye Khanna and Vineet Kumar, Chhaava has achieved remarkable box office success. It has earned an impressive Rs 459.5 crore nett in India and a total of Rs 608.65 crore worldwide. This makes it a significant milestone for both Vicky Kaushal and director Laxman Utekar.
In its third weekend, Chhaava maintained its momentum, grossing Rs 13 crore on Friday, Rs 22 crore on Saturday, and Rs 25 crore on Sunday in India. Based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the film shows no signs of slowing down. And it has now just Rs 6 crore away from eclipsing Salman Khan’s Sultan, which grossed Rs 614 crore globally.
From a remarkable Rs 31 crore opening day to Rs 116.5 crore in its first weekend and Rs 219.5 crore in its first week, followed by Rs 180.25 crore in the second week. Chhaava has been on a record-breaking spree. The excitement surrounding the film remains strong, and it is now eyeing the ambitious target of reaching Rs 700 crore.
In addition to Kaushal’s stellar performance, Chhaava features an ensemble cast. It has Diana Penty, Neil Bhoopalam, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta. The film was released worldwide on February 14, 2025. It was originally slated to compete with Pushpa 2, but its release was strategically postponed. Notably, Chhaava has climbed to the 14th position among the highest-grossing films in India. The film surpassed major blockbusters like Aamir Khan’s Dangal (Rs 412.87 crore nett) and Padmaavat.
