Chup Box Office: Dulquer Salmaan, Sunny Deol starrer witnesses a decent opening on Day 1

Filmmaker R Balki’s directorial Chup saw a decent opening in the first day collections at the box office. The movie starring Dulquer Salmaan and Sunny Deol is currently riding high on positive reviews, from critics and the audience. Based on a story that revolves around the murder of film critics, the movie has managed to create quite a buzz with its interesting plot.

Despite other movie releases like Ayan Mukerji directorial Brahmastra, the film Chup has had a decent first day with box office collections in the 2.75-3 crore nett range. A Box office India report said that the collections of the R Balki directorial may well have been its first weekend, if not the collections from the cinema day.

According to the report, “Chup had a decent first day as it collected in the 2.75-3 crore nett range which may well have been its first weekend if it was not for cinema day. A film like this gets a huge boost with lower ticket rates as its difficult to get people out for this type of content without an incentive.”

The box office report said that the Dulquer Salmaan and Sunny Deol starrer even got good footfalls on the first day of the release. Dhokha – Round D Corner starring R Madhavan, Khushali Kumar, and Aparshakti Khurana made a collection of 1.15 crore nett on the opening day. The film Dhokha clashed at the box office with the R Balki directorial.

While Chup faired decently, the Hollywood re-release Avatar managed to make a decent collection too. The film collected 1.85 crore nett range that takes Avatar’s lifetime business to 105 crore nett.

Meanwhile, Chup also features Pooja Bhatt and Shreya Dhanwantry, apart from Dulquer and Sunny Deol.
