Day 2: Box office collection of ‘Rock On 2’ is way more than disappointing

It looks like Narendra Modi’s move to take charge of black money in India has had a tragic effect on Farhan Akhtar’s recent release ‘Rock On 2’. The movie being the sequel of superhit film, ‘Rock On’, was one of the most anticipated ones, but the box office numbers of ‘Rock On 2’ are disastrous.

According to the statistics, ‘Rock On 2’ that stars Farhan Akhtar, Shraddha Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli and Shashank Arora, has managed to mint only Rs 4.50 crore approximately at the box office. On Day 1, the film had collected approximately Rs 2 crore at the box office. Taking a slight jump on Day 2, the film managed to rake in approximately Rs 2.25 crore to Rs 2.50 crore.

Numbers are sure disappointing and we just hope that the film picks up in the coming days. We also hope that the films that are slated to release this week, namely, John Abraham’s ‘Force 2’ and Neha Sharma’s ‘Tum Bin 2’, do not suffer the loss because of this currency ban.

Directed by a newcomer Shujaat Saudagar, ‘Rock On 2’ has been produced by Farhan’s ‘Excel Entertainment.
