‘Dear Zindagi’ scores well in its first week

Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt-starrer ‘Dear Zindagi’ had collected 32.50 crore in its first weekend. The film showed a drop over the week days, but it was steady throughout.

The Gauri Shinde directorial has collected Rs. 46.75 crore in seven days which is good. The movie is expected to do well in its second week. However, the film will face a competition from Vidya Balan-starrer ‘Kahaani 2’.

‘Dear Zindagi’ has proved that good content can get audiences to theatres. Due to demonetization, moviegoers were staying away from cinemas, but Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt-starrer got them back to the cinema couches. We agree that the film had star power, but we cannot also ignore the fact that it was the content that was being loved by everyone.

This week one more content-oriented film ‘Kahaani 2’ has released, and we expect that the Vidya Balan-starrer will also do a good business at the box office.
